Duty Station: Kathmandu

Responsibilities:

Facility Coordinator and Rural Development Expert will be based in the ADS Implementation Support Unit (ADSISU) in MoALD, and as such directly in support of ADS implementation, coordination and reporting. He/she will ensure that the key concerns of the agricultural sector are well addressed by the facility. He/she will also assist the Facility Team Leader in his/her contacts, helping to reach the right persons and obtain the right information. 

Required qualification and experience:

• Master’s degree in agriculture and rural development, social science, or other relevant subject or equivalent working experience of 15 years
  
• A minimum of 10 years of experience as an agriculture and rural development expert and having experience with respect to operationalising nutrition sensitive approach to agriculture, preferably in the context of a least developed country/ developing countries and capacity building at national level processes. A longer experience with respect to agriculture/ rural development would be an asset
  
• At least 10 years of experience in managing programmes and/or advising as a consultant in the area of agriculture and rural development. 
  
• Experience of similar projects or set-up would be an added advantage
  
• Experience and expertise in Rural Development issues
  
• Knowledge and experience of public administration in Nepal in particular ministries related to Rural Development
  
• Excellent Coordination skills
  
• Good communication skills (both verbal and written) in English and Nepali
