Saathi is a non-governmental organization established in 1992 to address the different forms of violence and discrimination faced by Nepali women and girls. It was the first organization that was instrumental in drawing significant national attention towards domestic violence in Nepal as an area requiring urgent attention and intervention to break the silence that impacts the lives of many marginalized women and girls. It has persistently continued its crusade for creating a safe and violence-free society where women and children can live with respect and dignity.

Duration: 9 months (Fixed Term) 

Report to: Program Officer 

Primary Roles and responsibilities but not limited to:

  • Help develop project intervention strategy to provide comprehensive protection services for the children involved in the exploitative labor activities
  • Explore and Identify partnership with related stakeholders including private sector to ensure child-centric corporate responsibility
  • Organize meetings with local governments officials and non- governmental organization to build a synergic effort in addressing internal trafficking and providing protection to the women and girls vulnerable to internal trafficking
  • Help prepare progress reports for development partner in consultation with project lead and executive director
  • Document the project progress, make presentation to donor and government agencies. 
  • Prepare correspondence to the stakeholders, donors and local government units related to the project
  • Engage private sector and Small and medium sized enterprises to ensure child-centric business activities
  • Coordinate with beneficiary’s families, training institutes and government entities to provide effective empowerment of the women, girls and children survivor or at risk of exploitation
  • Prepare reintegration plan for survivors and youth, children and adolescent girls at risk 
  • Assist outreach officers, helping them in the field to locate the beneficiaries, providing them information about DIC and documenting the cases
  • Design the conduct life-skill training for the DIC beneficiaries

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in social science/ development studies/ communication and years' at least 2 years’ experience in NGO in similar post 
  • Experience in and demonstrated understanding of the GBV and VAW&C issues 
  • Sound knowledge on issues of internal trafficking and girl’s exploitation on adult entertainment sector 
  • Knowledge about thee Drop-In-Center (DIC) for the trafficking survivor and vulnerable women, girls and children. 
  • Knowledge on government’s anti-trafficking and labor policy to safeguard children from exploitative labor activities.  
  • Knowledge on Child-Centric Corporate responsibility perspective 
  • Prior experience coordinating with Small and medium sized enterprises for the empowerment of women and girls faced with violence 
  • In-depth knowledge of case management process 
  • Computer proficient ( Ms word , excel , PowerPoint )
