Job Description

READ Nepal seeks to hire an Executive Director (ED)to strategically lead the organisation towards growth and sustainability.

The Executive Director (ED) will be based in Kathmandu and report to the READ Nepal Board. The position requires frequent travel to project areas throughout Nepal. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Executive Director (ED) will be responsible to lead the growth and sustainability of READ Nepal. ED will lead by example, nurturing a value-led diverse teams in its mission. ED will oversee day-to-day activities of organization and shall take overall leadership and management of programs and administration. ED shall also forge strategic partnerships with a diverse range of stakeholders, both nationally and internationally, to realize READ Nepal’s strategic goals. In line with the organization’s mission and core values, ED will shoulder the following responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic direction and leadership for operationalizing the strategic plan of READ Nepal.
  • Lead the development of a highly motivated, value-driven, competent team and effectively manage their performances.
  • Engage with strategic funding partners, including institutions, foundations, private sector, philanthropists, the Nepal government, and influencers and manage strategic external relationships.
  • Lead the development and execution of the sustainability plan.
  • Play a strategic role in new program/project development and resource generation.
  • Ensure the quality of deliverables by focusing on a community-led, human-centered approach to program planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, including adherence to all compliance standards and maintaining the highest degree of accountability and transparency.
  • Maintain a collaborative relationship with the READ board.
  • Engage effectively with the community partners
  • Ensure that financial reporting is accurate and prepared in accordance to donor guidelines and in line with the organizations policies
  • Ensuring all financial transactions, procurement planning and procedures of the organization are in line with laws, organizational policies and donor compliances.
  • Ensure auditing of the organization is carried out timely, and ensure adequate management response in audit findings.

Although the continuation of the employment depends on the candidate’s performance, READ Nepal expects the selected candidate to make a commitment to work for at least three years.
