PIN, will be working on a pilot project to support urban populations in the Kathmandu Valley affected by the severe impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on food security and livelihoods and is looking for local partners with the following experience. The pilot will be designed in close consultation with local authorities as well as key stakeholders, will seek to ensure that the governmental services and Social Protection (SP) schemes are leveraged to address the needs of the most vulnerable groups, and market uptake of quality and high-nutritional value food products and healthy options in the target areas increased, and that potential gaps in ensuring that there is a match between supply (of governmental services, of market) and demand are well documented and the long-term change is advocated for.
Therefore, interested NGOs registered in Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur district are invited to submit an expression of interest no more than two pages in length to the email address [email protected]
The expression of interest should include:
- Name of the organization and relevant contact person.
- Description of experience working with government run social protection schemes, particularly in urban areas in the Kathmandu Valley
- Description of experience on research field
- Description of experience of working closely with local government and conducting advocacy work
- Description of experience working with food vendors within market system strengthening
- Description of experience of working in the nutrition sector, for example through support of Female Community Health Volunteer Networks (FCHVs)
- Description of experience working with vulnerable populations (such as pregnant and lactating women, people with disabilities, adolescents, children under 5)

- Copy of audit report (Last two years) and latest annual budget.
- Copy of Social Welfare Council (SWC) Affiliation and renewal certificate
- Copy of PAN/VAT Certificate of the NGO.
- Copy of Tax Exemption Certificate of the NGO (if available)
- Profile of the organization
Submission deadline is December 9th 2021, on or before 5.00PM. Applications longer than two pages in length may be rejected.
Submissions must be made to the official email address. An evaluation committee will do the evaluation considering the concept note (60% weightage) and other legal documents (40% weightage)
