Women’s Rehabilitation Centre (WOREC) is a national level NGO working for women's human rights and to ensure women empowerment with feminist value through protection and promotion of human rights and social justice focusing on campaigns- against violence against women, and women's economic, social and cultural rights nation-wide. We currently work in 19 districts with district offices in Morang, Sunsari, Udayapur, Siraha, Dhanusha, Dang, Kailali, Mahottari, Sarlahi, Rukum, Kapilvastu, Rupandehi and, Surkhet with Central Office in Lalitpur. Job Description

1. Basic Function
The Employment Facilitators will be the key persons for community outreach programme in close coordination and collaboration with peer educators and social mobilizers in the district. S/he will be responsible for collection and dissemination of Labour Market information and employment services and reporting to Employment Officer at the district. S/he needs tocoordinate with local business and Industries, academic/training institutions and other relevant stakeholders.

2. Main Responsibilities

Participate / Facilitate / Coordinate various programmes / Meetings 

  • Participate in capacity development training programmes on employment promotions and services
  • Participate in monthly project planning meetings (internal)
  • Coordinate with various stakeholders for employment promotion and services
  • Facilitate group meetings, discussions, door to door visit to collect and dissemination of information about local employment opportunities and job seekers

Implement monthly plan

  • Implement action plan
  • Coordinate and collaborate with peer educators and social mobilizers in the district

Prepare mapping of employment opportunities, training opportunities and job seekers by location

  • Coordinate for collection and dissemination of informationthrough various appropriate means including use of local government structure or door to door visit
  • Collect the data of locally available jobs/employment opportunities in the formal/informal sectors using ESC format
  • Collect qualitative and quantitative data collection about training providing institutions and skills development opportunities
  • Collect qualitative and quantitative data collection of potential candidates or job seekers using ESC format
  • Handover the information to Employment Officer

Assist in linking with community level basic employment services

  • Maintain strong coordination with businesses and industries concerning current and upcoming employment opportunities 
  • Be familiar with industry employment rules and skills requirements 
  • Create enabling environment to promote access to demand driven skills and connect with the job seekers
  • Providing adequate information on job seekers, training institutions and employers
  • Provide general career, vocational, employment, migration related counselling and refer ESC for local employment and MRC for migration issues 
  • Collect labour market information for aspirant workers regarding job openings, entry and skill requirements and other occupational information

Prepare case studies and success stories 

  • Prepare case studies and lesson learnt
  • Capture success stories with photos, videos (if possible)

Document and reporting

  • Capture photos, videos
  • Handover information, documents and others to Employment Officer

Other related duties 

  • Other related duties as required for community based interventions for employment promotion and services through MRC and ESC as instructed by WOREC Nepal

3. Minimum Requirements
3.1     A college degree (12 years of education) preferably emphasizing human resources, social science, economics, administration or  management plus a minimum of one year practical experience or A TVET diploma preferably emphasizing engineering, agriculture, tourism, health sectorplus a minimum of one year practical experience or A SLC graduate with min 4 years of experience in marketing and networking.

3.2    In addition Employment officers should demonstrate the following essential skills:

  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Good computer skills 
  • Good networking skills
  • Ability to work with others and to work under supervision
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong organization and planning skills
  • A commitment to continuous improvement and self-learning.

4. Remuneration and Benefits
4.1     The remuneration and other benefits will be as per employing agency.  

5. Selection preferences

  • The preferences will be given to the appropriate candidate having min. requirements with the followings: 
  • Local area people 
  • Women and DAG people
  • Understanding of the national labour market
  • Experience in marketing and networking
  • Having Skills training and entrepreneurship training
  • Knowledge the local business, industries and associations 
  • Knowledge on data collection techniques, career counselling and others related to employment promotion and services
