Benchen Monastery is a Buddhist Gumba established in 1976 at Swayambhu, Kathmandu. The Gumba offers Himalayan Buddhist education and culture, from essential ritual art, music, and dance to philosophy and advanced meditations. Gumba has a Buddhist College for Higher Buddhist studies and a Monastic Primary School at Pharping, Dakshinkali Municipality.
There are more than 200 senior Lamas at the monastery and its branch, a monastic college, and 165 small monks at its branch, a monastic school at Pharping.
