Emergency Response WASH Coordinator- 1 position

Purpose: The position holder will be responsible for facilitating and overseeing the delivery of WASH projects implemented in Sindhuli district to meet the specific objectives of each Project and the overall goal of the WASH in emergency response of Plan Nepal. S/he will ensure that interventions/activities implemented are at the best quality, with the best value for money and in line with the nationally and globally recognized standards as well as to Plan’s own.

Terms and Location: Six (6) months fixed term employment based in Sindhuli Programme Unit with frequent travel to the project areas.

Core Qualifications and Experience:

  • Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering/ Water Sanitary and hygiene or in relevant field
  • At least three (3) years’ relevant work experience in WASH and infrastructure development programmes/projects with good understanding of contemporary issues, activities and approaches
  • Desired professional qualification in the relevant job domain.
  • Proven experience in coordination, liaison and networking managing teams, finance and other critical management domains. 
  • INGO work experience preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the development and implementation of emergency WASH programme operational process in line with the approved project proposal and in collaboration with the local community based organisations and partner organisations.
  • Ensure effective monitoring, accountability and knowledge sharing to support comprehensive and quality monitoring of the programme in compliance with corporate guidelines of Plan.
  • Provide capacity building to partners and relevant stakeholders on WASH and prepare capacity development plan to ensure their skill and knowledge are enhanced
  • Support in development and review of WASH related programme plans & proposals.
