Emergency Grants Coordinator- 1 Position

Purpose: This position holder will be responsible for providing support to programmes and projects to prepare/review grants project budget, managing grants contracts with donors and national offices of Plan, tracking grants expenditure and financial reporting compliances. S/he will also be responsible for assigned emergency grants projects and closely work with the project team on financial monitoring and compliances including budget reviews and audit.
Term and Location: Six (6) months fixed term employment based in Country Office with frequent travel to the Emergency response location.

Core Qualifications and Experience:

  • Master’s Degree in Economics or Social Science and/or in relevant field.
  • At least (3) years’ of work experience in grants management support role.
  • Proven experience of writing reports and budgets. 
  • Proven experience of working with teams, managing budgets and other management domains. 
  • INGO work experience preferred, experience of working in emergency situation is a plus.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Together with the Emergency Grants Manager facilitate and manage grants’ start-up processes, implementation and reporting.
  • Develop the detailed budget, financial reports and any other cost application components required, in close coordination with the Program and Finance Departments
  • Liaise/coordinate with Monitoring, Evaluation & Research Unit for the development of monitoring tools to enhance emergency program donor reporting
  • Identify potential areas of risks in the implementation of grant funded projects
  • Support grant monitoring and assessment/audit processes when necessary
  • Provide advice to teams regarding donor compliance and contractual procedures
  • Keep grants internal control system updated (SAP)
