SUPERVISOR: Finance and Administration Director

LOCATIONS: Kathmandu and Dhangadhi, Sudurpashchim Province

ROLE PURPOSE: 

Under the supervision of the Finance and Administration Director, Drivers will be responsible for operating and maintaining motor vehicles for the transportation of project staff, consultants, and/or counterparts on project business.  Sajhedari STF is recruiting for two Drivers, one of whom will be based in Kathmandu and the other in the project’s provincial office, likely in Dhangadhi, Sudurpashchim Province.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operate a passenger motor vehicle in accordance with project regulations and policies and under instructions from the Finance and Administration Director, to transport project personnel and official visitors within the project operational area and elsewhere as instructed
  • Maintain vehicle in clean and serviceable condition and perform daily an routine preventive maintenance
  • Ensure that vehicle is operated in a safe, secure manner at all times.
  • Maintain an accurate vehicle log book for all trips 
  • Perform daily inspection of vehicle including tire pressure, oil and water levels
  • Report any incidents, accidents or injuries immediately to supervisor
  • Quickly notify supervisor about any major repairs and maintenance needed on vehicle
  • Follow all driving laws and regulations
  • Deliver documents and conduct general business on behalf of the project when required
  • Represent the project in a professional manner, using a courteous, helpful style of communication

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • A minimum of one year experience as a professional driver
  • Experience with USAID-funded projects or other INGOs is preferred
  • Must have a valid driver’s license appropriate to type of vehicle operated
  • Must be familiar with local traffic laws and area traffic patterns
  • Fluency in Nepali and basic English
