Role Purpose
The District Project Coordinator - Integrated Project will be responsible for overseeing the overall managerial and technical aspects of the Child Protection, Education and Livelihood components under the project at district level. S/he will manage and contribute to the implementation of the Integrated Projects including managing project partner NGOs based in the district. The position holder will contribute in delivering quality education; capacity strengthening of schools, teachers, school management committees (SMCs); income generation of farmers and needy families; realizing children's rights to protection from abuse, exploitation and violence within the scope of CRC, CEDAW, Paris Principle and other related international human rights treaties and national laws so that quality project delivery achieved in timely manner.

Term and Location: Fixed term position till December 2018 based in Bajura and Kalikot under Mid-Far Western Regional Office (MFWRO)

Required Qualification: Bachelors (Masters preferred) in Education, Law, Social Science, Rural Development or Development Studies with at least 3 years of experience in managing integrated projects/programs - Education, Child Protection including Livelihood interventions in development organizations preferably in I/NGOs at regional or district level

Key Areas of Accountability

  • Facilitate in preparing detail implementation plans (DIPs) and annual plan including budget and monitoring and evaluation plans for partner NGOs in collaboration with Program Coordinators and MEAL staff in the region.
  • Work closely with the regional and country level child protection, Health & Nutrition (H&N) team, education team /and P/NGOs staff and ensure effective implementation of child protection, H &N and education activities to achieve the objectives, goal and intended results.
  • Provide technical assistance to Program Manager, Program Coordinators to incorporate child protection and education perspective in regional program planning and monitoring.
  • Strengthen networking and coordination at the district and regional level with GO and other stakeholders for synergy and policy advocacy in-relation to the Integrated project (child protection, education and H&N) in the district
  • Assess the technical capacity of partners and SC staff in-relation to child protection /Education/ livelihood support to prepare CB plan and recommend/coordinate for their capacity building.
  • Visit field to monitor the CP program on a regular basis to ensure that the partners are carrying out activities maintaining high quality and identify the issues for improvements and further collaboration and support at the regional level.
  • Represent SC’s integrated programs at districts and regional level as and when required or requested by PM and RPM.
  • Explore new initiatives in terms of modalities and approaches for program development and implementation and contribute to designing new projects and proposals.
  • Reporting about all the concern Protection, Education and Health/Nutrition programs in the region as required
  • Work in close coordination with Country Protection and CRG/Education/H&N team and s/he will contribute from distance in developing overall country plan on Child protection and Child Rights Governance.
  • S/he contributes in developing new project concepts, proposals for new or ongoing integrated projects as and when asked.
  • S/he ensures that all allocated phased budget for the integrated project is efficiently spent as planned.

  • Proven experience in developing and managing partnerships with PNGOs
  • Proven experience in coordination with government partners (District Education office, Agriculture, District Cooperatives, Women and Children office, DCWB, Police cell, C/SZOP networks and alliances) and the ability to lead, motivate and develop others
  • Good understanding of Child rights programming, Child right governance and Education thematic area
  • Solid project delivery, implementation and monitoring skills with a proven history of delivering results
  • Ability to analyze information, evaluate options and to think and plan strategically
  • Effective interpersonal skills including leadership skills and ability to motivate those line managed by you and provide constructive feedback on performance
  • Fluency written and spoken English and Nepali, as well as excellent report writing skills
  • Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s aims, values and principles including rights-based approaches
  • Ability and willingness to stay and travel to any parts of the country
  • Skills related to participatory methods, computer literacy, financial management, and team management
  • Worked within the NGO community, donor agencies & government departments in relevant role
