  • Proven experience of managing WASH programs (water supply and treatment and quality, sanitation, hygiene promotion)

  • Proven experience in training and capacity building
  • Working experience through local partners is advantageous / an asset 
  • Ability to communicate with people in local language and in English (written/verbal)

Job Description

Main Objective:  To identify and implement high quality WASH activities which are appropriate and comprehensive, in conformity with overarching strategy and the standards set internationally, by ACF and by national policies.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

1. Organize and implement the strategy of the WASH Department:

  • Ongoing, systematic and thorough analysis of the humanitarian situation in respect of WASH and of the context of intervention in his/her field of activity;
  • Assess continuously the projects’ strategy, methods and propose improvements 
  • Ensure harmonization and updating of data entry and analysis and activity indicators
  • Participate in the analysis and drafting of the activity and evaluation reports (SitRep, APRs, WASH activity matrix, donor reports, etc.)
  • To organize field activities (planning and logistics)
  • To make sure that the technical activities are performed as per the provided design and up to the ACF standards
  • To guide the communities as well as staff in terms of use and maintenance of the facilities
  • To participate in WASH assessments in communities, schools, OTPs/HFs, IDP settlement etc.

2. Ensure internal and external coordination:

  • Ensure communication between the local stakeholders and WASH ACF teams
  • Participate in internal and external coordination meetings
  • Propose new directions for the projects

3. Supervise the activities as delegated by the Program Manager:

  • Develop action plans and strategy to conduct activities
  • Participate in the recruiting process
  • Report training needs to the head of program
  • Implement training sessions and organize workshop on the base

4. Strengthening Ownership through Advocacy and Partnerships:

  • Ensure communication is open between communities and ACF staff and that feedback from people is reported to WASH Program Manager
  • Defining the approach with local stakeholders, other organizations and LGIs.
  • Capacity build at field level with V/M-WASH-CCs and other stakeholders
  • Brief V/M-WASH-CCs on site selection, project and roles of each stakeholder
  • With consent from WASH PM organize meetings with LGIs, Contractor and other NGOs when necessary

5. Efficient management of the field stock:

  • Proper documentation of the received and delivered materials in the field level
  • Ensure the quality of the materials in the field level or in the base level (if needed)
  • Ensure the availability and proper use of the materials in the field level
  • Ensure steps of stock management as per the ACF policy including physical inventory when needed.

Contract Type :  Fixed Term Contract
Contract End Date :  31st December 2016
Basic Salary per month : NPR 71,208 plus (accommodation allowance which depends on localized/delocalized   staff, transportation allowance, provident fund benefit and festival bonus)
