SUPERVISOR: Chief of Party, Kathmandu-based

LOCATION: Dhangadhi, Sudurpashchim Province

ROLE PURPOSE: 

The DCoP is a key position on the project and as such, appointment to the position will be contingent on approval from USAID Nepal. 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide managerial and technical support to the Chief of Party, assisting in areas including work planning, performance management, and strategic communications
• Serve as the provincial office director, managing all technical and management staff in the provincial office
• Supervise implementation of municipal/provincial government strengthening, citizen engagement, and policy dialogues in the targeted province
• Serve as the project’s key liaison with provincial government counterparts
• Manage and supervise the work of project personnel
• Collaboratively create and implement a strategic, long-term programmatic vision in the province
• Other duties as assigned by the Chief of Party

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master’s degree in international development, public policy, public administration or another relevant field
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in fields related to local governance, community development and public administration
• Demonstrated experience interacting with government agencies, civil society counterparts, and international donor agencies; experience working on USAID-funded activities preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Nepali
• Ability and willingness to undertake extensive field travel
