Educational Description:

  • Bachelor in Computer Science
  • Bachelor in Computer Engineering, Bachelor in Software Engineering
  • Related discipline or web related technology experience

Job Requirements

  • Experience in Database Administration and managing multiple MS SQL 2012 & above RDBMS on large systems
  • Experience in resolving various issues related to database integrity, performance, blocking and deadlocking
  • replication, log shipping, connectivity, security etc
  • Experience in Performance Tuning, Query Optimization
  • Ability to detect and troubleshoot SQL Server related CPU, memory, I/O, disk space and other resource contention
  • Strong knowledge of backups, restores, recovery models, database shrink operations, DBCC commands, Clustering, Database mirroring, Replication, Partitioning
  • Strong knowledge of index management, integrity checks, statistics, configuration
  • Knowledge of SQL Server tools (Profiler, SSMS, PerfMon, DMVs, and system sprocs)
  • SQL Development – ability to write and troubleshoot SQL Code and design
  • Documentation skills for processes and procedures

Job Description

  • Design, Creates and maintains all databases required for development, testing, education and production usage
  • Performs the capacity planning required to create and maintain the databases
  • Performs tuning of the database instances
  • Install new versions of the MS SQL Server and its tools and any other tools that access the MS SQL SERVER database
  • Plans and implements backup and recovery of the SQL SERVER database
  • Controls migrations of programs, database changes, reference data changes and menu changes through the development lifecycle
  • Implements and enforces security for all of the SQL Server Databases
  • Performs database re-organisations as required to assist performance and ensure maximum uptime of the database
