The ACNS (https://autismnepal.org/) is an active autism organization in Nepal led by parents of individuals with autism. It is a non-profit, non-political, non-governmental organization registered with the District Administration Office (Registration No. 1067/2065) and affiliated with the Social Welfare Council (SWC No: 25314). Since its inception on April 2, 2008, on "World Autism Awareness Day," it has been actively engaged in autism awareness programs, advocating for the rights of individuals with autism/autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and capacity building of individuals with autism, their parents and caregivers in Nepal. 

The organisation provides assessment and diagnostic services, intervention programs, parent training and counselling, a special education program, vocational training for adults with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and capacity building for health, educational, and other paraprofessionals. Qualifications & Experience:

  • Strong demonstrated experience of using the following REDCap, REDCap Cloud, Python, SPSS, STATA and SQL Server
  • Fluency in English and Nepali oral and written communication
  • Demonstrated experience of documentation including data related reports and standard operating procedures 
  • Proficient in using digital tools (Mobile phones, laptops and audio/video recorder etc.)
  • Proficient in MS-Office with excellent MS-Excel knowledge, internet, outlook and email
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills

Job Description

Program: Neurodevelopment and AutisM in South ASia Treatment and Evidence (NAMASTE)
Location: AutismCare Nepal Society (ACNS), Harisiddhi, Lalitpur district, Nepal
Tenure: 48 Months
Time: Full time (5 days a week)

About the Program:

NAMASTE is a research project which aims to design and implement a flexible evidenced pathway towards universal health coverage for children with autism, through a program of research, training and capacity building across India, Sri Lanka and Nepal. This is a collaborative research project, led by the University of Manchester in the UK and India, Nepal and Sri Lanka. In Nepal, the ACNS collaborate to conduct this project in Godawari Municipality, Lalitpur district.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Data Management & Analytics 

  • Management of an integrated data processing system employing internationally accepted platforms (e.g. REDCap, REDCap Cloud, Python etc.)
  • Designing of all digital tools on both desktop and handheld device interfaces
  • Development of procedures for entry and management of all digital and paper data collection tools. 
  • Supervise data entry and systematic archiving of all non-digital data collection tools
  • Assisting in Server file management, testing / checking and identifying errors in data
  • Development and maintenance of secure database, not only limited to conventional data types but also including video & audio files
  • Getting training on data integration, creating of analysis database, conducting preliminary epidemiology analysis, mainly descriptive analysis of datasets in multiple programme
  • Data analysis of using software like STATA and Python

Documentation activities

  • Documentation of routine data analytic reports and standard operating procedures for all data management processes.
  • Drafting, translation and quality-checking of data management materials in Nepali and English.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records for use in supervision and research.
  • Prepare contents showcasing programme progress to key internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Contribute to research outputs, based on interests and program requirements.

Program implementation and collaborative activities

  • Support the recruitment of the data management team
  • Support training of all field level data collectors on use of instruments and specifically technology deployed in the programme
  • Routine trouble shooting of all technology related issues arising during field data collection
  • Provide ongoing mentoring to all early career team members in ACNS
  • Support the development and maintenance of the supervisory skills of the team
  • Conduct regular meetings with data management team to coordinate and manage assigned tasks
  • Work collaboratively with ACNS administrative personnel and participate in ACNS activities and meetings
  • Participate and assist in all ACNS activities
