Job Purpose: Lead to support dalit communities in villages to take up their local pertinent social justice issues in order to help them increase access to livelihood resources and decrease food shortage period

Contract Type: Initially, a probation period of six months and following the probation period, a full-time engagement for one year with possibility of renewal on annual basis; field-based mobile position, loose beginnings and endings of the day unlike 09 am to 05 pm; Sunday to Friday. 

Duty Station: The Dalit Advocacy Facilitator will be a 100% field-based mobile position based in Dolpa district.

Project Location: Project locations are situated in areas of Thuli Bheri, Tripurasundari and Mudkechula RM/Ms in Dolpa district in Karnali Province. Traveling to and within the project site involves extensive walking and living with community members.

Minimum Requirement and Competencies:

• Has extensive knowledge and skills on taking up local pertinent issues of dalit communities.
• Is analytical, finds and proactively shares sources of knowledge and is a problem solver.
• Can live and extensively walk in remote areas for extended periods.
• Is contextualized with remote and isolated rural context of dalit communities.
• Has proven skills and experiences in capacity building activities such as trainings, workshops and community mobilization.
• Has ability in lobby and advocacy with various stakeholders including local political parties, municipal leaders, officials and civil society actors.
