Raleigh International is a Sustainable Development charity working in Youth Development; access to Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH); Livelihood Improvements and Natural Resources Management sectors. We work across the globe providing young people with unique opportunities for personal and professional development. Raleigh International in Nepal implements the project Inspiring Youth Through Active Citizenship since 2016.

We are looking for volunteers to join our Summer 2019 volunteering programmes:

On our programmes you will be working side by side with local communities and international volunteers in various villages of Gorkha or Makwanpur districts for 10 weeks .

Please note: These roles are voluntary and are unpaid – but you are provided with accommodation, transport, food and medical cover.

Responsible to: Country Programme Manager

Salary: As per RIN Policy

Location: Kathmandu (40%) with frequent field visit to working districts (60%)

Nature: Post is contractual in nature (6 months probationary period)

Purpose: 

Responsible to the development and implementation/operationalise the Enterprise Development/livelihoods projects in working districts. Ensure high-quality project implementation while closely working with national and international youths, youth entrepreneurs, partner organisations, Business organisations, MFI, Cooperatives, technical institutions and service providers. Initiate project proposal development, technical study, MEAL and training course development and delivery to support young people learnings.  

Education: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, agriculture, business management, enterprise development and or relevant field

Qualification: 

  • Minimum 5 years of experience working in the sector, experience in planning, implementation and monitoring of livelihoods., TVET and enterprise development projects in the communities
  • Skills in training, coaching, mentoring and project development, capacity building of beneficiaries, partners and CBOs
