Job Description

The CQM will be based in Nepalgunj with frequent travel to project districts - Rukum East in Lumbini Province and in Rukum West, Jajarkot, Salyan, Dolpa, Sukhet and Dailekh in Karnali Province. The CQM will provide overall managerial support in supervising, monitoring and supporting the construction/rehabilitation of water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) infrastructures in 50 health facilities. S/he will manage Swachchhata District Coordinators and Construction Quality Supervisors (CQSs) based in the districts, and a local construction firm. The CQM will ensure quality of technical surveys, designs and cost estimates, and monitor and supervise construction and post-construction activities. The CQM will also monitor the quality of construction-related trainings and ensure effective synergies with infection prevention, behavior change communication, environmental protection and gender and social inclusion interventions. 

Qualifications and Experiences:

  • Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering and Master’s degree in WASH, Environmental Health, Public Health, Rural Development or related field. 
  • At least 7 years of experience in an equivalent position. 

Requirements:

  • Good proficiency in Microsoft (Excel, Word, Powerpoint and Outlook) and AutoCAD software Demonstrated capacity in building and sustaining partnerships to achieve development results
  • Designing and executing a transparent procurement system; and assuring adherence to relevant codes and specifications
  • Ability to work in a team, coordinate tasks, and work with minimum supervision
  • Strong English and Nepali written and spoken skills
