  • Good written and oral communication skills, with experience in translation and transcription, conveying messages to different audiences using diverse media and experience in editing and proofreading corporate communication documents for public dissemination.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with stakeholders from various institutional arrangements.

Job Description

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Communication Officer

  • Prepare newsletters for the office for both web and e-mail distribution (weekly for Sajha Sawal and seven times per season for Katha Mitho Sarangiko and Sarangiko Bhalakusari).
  • Contribute in planning of and arrangements of events, and prepare office materials for the press and coordinate with media when required. 
  • Write or provide input for BBC MA fortnightly, quarterly and annual reports, as well as write and edit (where required) materials required for BBC MA’s websites.
  • Provide input in writing and editing texts when required.
  • Source, translate (where required), and document audience feedback and cases of strong impact of BBC MA programmes as required.
  • Co-ordinate in the production of other internal and external BBC MA communications, publications and materials, in consultation with other BBC MA staff.

Translator

  • Assess translation/transcription needs and coordinate outsourcing of such assignments.
  • Review the translation/transcription acquired from outside consultants.
  • Translate and edit urgent and confidential internal materials.
