Job Description

The Oda Foundation COO will be responsible for supporting the CEO in maintaining both administrative, programmatic, and developmental responsibilities. This individual will split their time between working remotely in Kathmandu and traveling to our campus in Kalikot, where the rest of our team and all of our operations are based out of.

Kathmandu

In Kathmandu the COO will work remotely to maintain our relationships with local advisors and consultants, government and private partners, as well as with our US Board and Executive Emeritus who is based abroad. Additionally, the COO will spend a considerable amount of time in Kathmandu maintaining our methods of communication with donors based abroad, exploring new funding potential through international and domestic grants, and recruiting on an as-needed basis. 

This individual will also be responsible for finalizing monthly and quarterly reports to be submitted to the Oda Foundation’s CEO and Executive Emeritus as well as the Oda Foundation Board. In summary, the COO’s time spent in Kathmandu will consist of a blend of report writing, fundraising, partnership management, recruiting, government responsibilities, networking, and US-Nepal communication. 

Kalikot

In Kalikot the COO will focus on programmatic progress, team check-ins and capacity-building, and local government partnerships. This individual will work closely with the Oda Foundation’s Co-founder and CEO to ensure our Facilities Department, Clinic Department, Education Department, and Administrative Department (altogether a staff of ~30) are working collaboratively and in line with the Foundation’s direction. 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Facilitating and engaging in meetings in Kathmandu as a means of both educating others on the Foundation’s work and pursuing partnership possibilities
  • Working with Oda Foundation CEO and Executive Emeritus on budget creation and monitoring & evaluation methods
  • Reporting on month-end financials, quarterly financials, and quarterly operations
  • Sending updates to US Board, participating in US and Nepal board meetings
  • Managing the Oda Foundation Fellowship program
  • Overseeing short-term volunteers coming to and from our Kalikot campus
  • Regularly revising the Foundation’s strategic planning process
  • Developing project proposals and work plans for ongoing Oda Programs, newly identified project opportunities, and grants
  • Recruiting for new team members as needed
  • Sending out quarterly newsletters to our community of supporters
