Established in August 2014, Himalaya Airlines is a Nepal - China joint venture, providing international air services. As the name ‘Himalaya’ symbolizes high mountains of Nepal, dedicated in service to uplift the name of the nation, Himalaya Airlines aspires to rise up in its name to international standards. With the aim to excel in safety, on time performance (OTP) and most primarily, in service to its customers, H9 has already established itself in Nepal with high recognition.

Presently H9 operates to five destinations - Abu Dhabi, Dammam, Doha, Dubai, and Kuala Lumpur. The airline proudly owns a young fleet of 3 Airbus A320-214 series of narrow-body aircraft with the configuration of 8 Premium Economy class & 150 Economy class seats. For year 2019, the airline plans to focus on China connectivity by adding up Beijing to its destination network and eventually extending to other cities like Nanchang, Wuhan, Changsha, Nanning etc. Airline also has plans to acquire A319 for flying to high altitude destinations like Lhasa.

H9 received its first international award for “Leading New International Airlines in South Asia” at South Asian Travel Awards (SATA) 2017. This award honors the efforts undertaken towards developing high standard of services and expanding network and has given a tremendous boost to H9 family to excel further and rise higher in the aviation sector.

Himalaya Airlines’ in-flight entertainment system offers passengers with latest blockbuster movies, music, TV shows and documentaries etc. Passengers flying with Himalaya Airlines can also spend their quality time reading through the in-flight magazine – Danfe. Following the genuine Nepalese tradition of “Atithi Devo Bhava” – Guest is God, H9 strives to provide true Nepali Hospitality to its esteemed passengers.

About Job:

Budget Units Officers are responsible for requesting budget changes, submitting transfers, approving transactions and requesting payments, should review accounts on a regular basis to ensure proper recording of account expenses.

Key Responsibilities:

Review and Approve Original Charges: 

  • All invoices and requests for payment, including any related backup documentation, should be reviewed by the appropriate authority and signed as approved.

Keep Appropriate Records: 

  • Records (i.e.: a copy of the invoice, sole source documentation, business meeting notes, etc…) should be kept in accordance with departmental and university Records Retention policies.

Review Posting of Charges: 

  • A review of all charges and deposits to accounts under your purview should be made regularly and at least monthly.

Reporting and Resolution of Issues: 

  • Any issues found during your review should be immediately brought to the attention of the Fiscal Affairs Manager or Director of Business and Finance. Fiscal Affairs personnel shall assist the Budget Manager in researching and resolving issues. However, the Budget Manager is ultimately responsible for final follow up and resolution.

Review Budget vs. Actual Information: 

  • A regular review of budget vs. actual expenses and revenue should be done to identify any possible issues. Any questions or concerns should be immediately brought to the Director of Business and Finance.

Delegated Responsibilities: 

  • It is the Budget Manager’s responsibility to ensure that any delegated authorities or duties are properly documented, approved and maintain appropriate internal controls. Any questions can be directed to the Fiscal Affairs Manager or the Executive Director of Business and Finance.
