UN Traineeship Cohort VI Starting Soon

Real Solutions Pvt. Ltd. in coordination with United Nations Nepal is all set to start its sixth UN Traineeship Programme. This 11 months training programme will focus on providing the trainees with full time on the job training assignments with access to mentoring and practical experiences in an international UN working environment. 

For the same, on behalf of the United Nations in Nepal, Real Solutions Pvt. Ltd., invites applications from potential Nepali candidates belonging from Socially Excluded Groups for a traineeship programme with UN Agencies. If you are a University graduate and belong from Socially Excluded Groups, this is a huge opportunity to develop your professional competencies and enhance your employability prospects. 

This joint initiation between UN agencies provides opportunities for prospective trainees in the areas of Public Health, Child Protection, Social Policy, Water Sanitation and Hygiene, Information/Database Management, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Administration and Finance, Culture, Architecture, Gender Equality and Social Inclusion, Monitoring and Evaluation, Media and Mass Communication, Data Entry and Analysis, Agro-Forestry (Agriculture/Forestry/Natural Sciences) and Education. 

A total of113 trainees graduated from past four traineeship programmes has been working actively in various business houses, I/NGOs, government sector, etc all over Nepal. “Solid computer skills, a methodological approach to task completion & the ability to meet strict deadlines is what I learned through the UN Traineeship Programme,” says Ms. Cicilia Gole, one of the participants at UN Traineeship Programme Cohort IV. After the completion of the programme, she has been working as a District Liason Officer at UNRCO, Charikot.  

Similarly, Mr. Sekh Abdul Majeed, currently working as Public Health Officer at Centre for Molecular Dynamics, states that the UN Traineeship Programme provided him with the opportunity to broaden the scope of his knowledge & skills. “Engaging in various activities, I gained proper insight on communication & coordination skills and techniques,” he added.  

The training program will also provide an opportunity to get involved in various training programs such as Skill Enhancement Training, Career Development Training, Personality Development Training, etc. Similarly, exposure to the real work experience and grooming in the right manner for the right job is what the trainees will be gaining from the programme. 

“Working as a UN Trainee has contributed to my ability for context analysis and reporting of issues related to local & central politics, development, peace, etc.,” says Ms. Sushmita Subba, currently working as Information Analyst at UNDPA, Kathmandu. According to her, she developed enhanced communication & coordination skills through field experience & interview with various stakeholders during her traineeship period.
