Should have a keen interest in mechanical engineering practices and their application to the manufacturing industry
Well developed written and oral communication skills
Demonstrated understanding capabilities of instructions, analytical capabilities of pass/fail criteria.
Demonstrated interest or appreciation of mechanical engineering processes
Demonstrated problem solving abilities including the ability to apply technical knowledge to challenging and unique situations
Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team, manage multiple tasks and reporting relationships
Demonstrated commitment to personnel development in areas of technical expertise
Sound physical health

Should work under the direction of the senior laboratory personnel, will be responsible for the manufacturing of intra ocular lens, essential prosthetics that are used to restore people's sight during cataract surgery.
Manufacturing of Fred Hollows Intra Ocular Lens Facility products in line with documented procedures.
Completion of documentation associated with manufacturing
Clean and well maintain equipment and work stations
Safe operation of a range of specialist plant and machinery associated with manufacturing.
Perform other duties assigned by senior personnel in the interest of improving the productivity and quality of production.
