Qualification and Experience:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or similar field with 2 years of relevant experience
  • Should have IT systems experience, such as Windows and Linux server administrations, SQL, Oracle database
  • Good knowledge of IP-based networks & communication network
  • Good knowledge of NextGen OSS, ETOM and ITIL standards
  • Good knowledge of SNMP and CORBA North Bound Interface

Job Description

Department: Information Technology

Section: Application Planning & Management

Unit: Operation Support System (OSS)

Duty Station: Current requirement is in Kathmandu but can be placed anywhere in Nepal as per business needs and future requirements.

Main Responsibility Areas:

  • Evaluate, Install, Maintain and Monitor various Element management systems (ZTE U31 GU/CN, Huawei U2000/I2000, AVIAT, and ROADM etc.), probing systems and monitoring systems
  • Monitor and maintain system logs, SW version/release change logs, patch logs and implement proactive maintenance task to increase system availability
  • Maintain backups in accordance with vendor recommendations and company policies to provide uninterruptable work of systems under direct responsibility
  • Participate in evaluation and implementation of new and emerging technologies in order to provide exceptional customer service through operational excellence
  • Monitor system performance in terms of system utilization, reports and license forecasting
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complaints of stakeholders in coordination with vendor’s support team for solving the problems related to system
  • Analyze, evaluate and report significant incidents and faults affecting operational support systems, and provide recommendations if required
  • Coordinate with the team to capture user’s functional requirements and prepare formal proposals and documentation
  • Propose and maintain necessary databases and projects on a regular basis
  • Analyze and assess security gaps
  • Identify & propose for optimization of deployed solution
  • Maintain positive team spirit among colleagues to ensure effective realization of targets focusing on the overall success of the company and the satisfaction of customers
  • Understand and fully adhere to the company values and code of conduct and act as role model and ambassador of the company
  • Perform any other relevant professional duty assigned by the supervisor
