Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH invites applications from suitable professionals for the Global Programme “Shaping development-oriented migration” (Migration entwicklungspolitisch gestalten, MEG). MEG assists partner countries in leveraging the benefits of regular migration and engaging diaspora for sustainable development. Working on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the MEG is active in 14 partner countries around the globe. It contributes towards implementing the GCM and is part of a comprehensive approach to migration and development.

The programme has four fields of action: 1) Regular Migration 2) Diaspora Cooperation 3) Mitigating precarious situations and enhancing the protection of migrants and 4) Global Partnerships. All the four fields of action are currently being implemented in Nepal.

Position: Assistant-Administration and Finance
Duty Station: Bhalubang
Expected joining date: 01 October 2024

Responsibilities:

  • Provide accounting/finance services in the field office in accordance with GIZ rules and regulation
  • Prepare vouchers, collect and arrange supporting documents
  • Assist in reviewing and checking financial reports and documents submitted by the NGOs
  • Assist in providing fund requirement of the regional office
  • Assist in managing office logistics
  • Make travel settlement and payment to participants
  • Assist in receivable settlement
  • Arrange air tickets and accommodation
  • Process travel claims and payment
  • Assist in managing project vehicle and assigns duties to drivers
  • Reviews logbooks and monitors fuel consumption
  • Coordinates for regular vehicle servicing and minor repair and maintenance
  • Reviews overtime of drivers and assist to prepare summary report
  • Assist specific administrative tasks and other works as assigned by supervisor

Required qualification and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration/management/business area or similar are
  • 2 years of working experience in comparable position specially in INGOs, external development agencies
  • Good knowledge of accounting software
  • Ability to work with project staff, implementing partners staff, and vendors.
  • Excellent communication skills in both English and Nepali (both written and verbal)
  • MS Office package (word, excel, PowerPoint), internet and email use (essential) GIZ Nepal
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work in a team environment
