Finance Officer- 1 Position

Purpose: The position holder is responsible to assist Finance Coordinator for effective financial management ensuring effective internal control system in compliance with policies and procedures of Plan International Nepal and relevant laws and Acts of Government of Nepal.

Term and Location: Fixed term employment for 3 years based in Karnali Field Office, Jumla

Required Qualifications & Experiences:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Studies/ Administration or any relevant subject   
  • At least 3 years of relevant working experience in a similar role or demonstrable evidence of the ability to take the role 
  • Basic knowledge of tax laws & bylaws, procurement process and inventory management
  • Effective communication skills in both English and Nepali language
  • Proficient in computer skill, mainly MS office package
  • Demonstrate high degree of professionalism and integrity
  • INGO Experience preferred

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Finance Coordinator to prepare fund request statement in coordination with Program staff and forward to Country Office Finance Team ensuring fund requirement of Field Office
  • Ensure that all the payment documents are reviewed correctly in line with Plan Policies and procedures before submitting for approval
  • Support Finance Coordinator to prepare and analyse the monthly budget vs. actual
  • Timely and quality annual budget preparation and submit to Country office within due date
  • Update monthly rolling budget including grant budget within one week after receipt of budget from country office
  • Review partners document submitted for liquidation in line with Plan International Nepal’s policies and procedures
  • Ensuring partners’ accounting system is complete, accurate, reasonable and in compliance with system and procedures
