  • Environmental, Research & Consents
  • Design, Engineering and Project Management
  • Asset Management including Operations, Maintenance and Monitoring

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Science, Engineering or related discipline
  • 2+ years in energy utility, energy consultancy or related field discipline
  • A formal relevant qualification (Bachelor’s Degree, Masters) 
  • IELTS C1 / C2 English language written & spoken 
  • Strong quantitative, writing, communication and analytical skills
  • Programming experience in VBA and SQL desirable
  • High proficiency in M365 office applications, include Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Able to work within a dynamic environment with good attention to detail
  • Able to work to tight deadlines and self-manage priorities against multiple tasks

Job Description

  • Remotely, gathering and assembling data from temporary and long term gauging stations
  • Data interpretation and analysis using Excel and SQL to produce Flow Duration Curves and clean periodic data sets
  • Use these data sets in analytical models related to stored water and energy production
  • Produce high quality reports and documentation as appropriate 
  • Maintain quality standards within data collection and analysis. This is especially important for the release of data to 3rd parties 
  • Responsible for the delivery of assigned tasks and projects within defined timescales and budgets
  • Remote monitoring of Renewable Energy Stations
  • Propose innovative ways data science can be applied to improve the hydro industry to feed into development of new projects and services
  • Produce high quality technical reports or documentation as appropriate to the role and follow quality procedures for their release.  Furthermore, support the quality assurance process for deliverables created by others in the organisation
  • Work as part of a team to suggest improvements which will benefit our clients.

Shift Work

  • The post will be required to undertake some shift work (early or late) 
  • Weekend work will be required regularly 
  • Overtime will be paid where appropriate
