  •  3+ years of working experience in a similar position
  • Demonstrated ability to establish financial processes and execute the daily financial management and accounting activities

Job Description

About The Role:

We are recruiting a Finance and Accounting Officer to be based in our Kathmandu, Nepal office beginning immediately.  The Finance and Accounting Manager will provide daily operational and long-term strategic support to the organization. This role will report directly to the Program Manager and assist him on all strategic and tactical matters related to budget management, financial planning, cash management, expense management, accounting, yearly closing, audit, parent company reporting and bank relations.

This role requires attention to detail and timely execution. This position provides a unique opportunity in an early-stage company to work with a team which believes in responsible social development to promote social and economic development.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day financial operations of the Group
  • Prepare and implement accounting policies
  • Oversee the production of monthly reports including reconciliations, financial statements and cash flow projections
  • Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
  • Prepare all fiscal reporting activities for the organization including: operating budget, revenue / expense and balance sheet reports, reports to funding agencies, development and monitoring of organizational and contract/grant budgets
  • Ensure adequate cash flow management
  • Oversee all purchasing and payroll activity for staff and participants
  • Establish banking relations and execute bank transfers with Regional CEO
  • Train staff on knowledge of financial management matters
  • Support business development/sales and project work
  • Assist in the development and negotiation of contracts
  • Participate in developing new business, specifically: assist the Regional CEO, Nepal Program Manager, and senior management in identifying new funding opportunities, preparing business cases and budgets for new leads
